RESULTS OF THE SOCIAL PROGRAM OF JSC “MARKET OPERATOR”: 515 SPECIALISTS ENHANCED THEIR AWARENESS OF THE OPERATION OF THE ELECTRICITY MARKET IN 2025

The modern electricity market is rapidly changing under the influence of the war, the instability of the power system, the development of distributed generation, and the deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Businesses today require not fragmented but a systemic understanding of the rules, logic, and interaction of market segments. That is why in 2024 JSC “Market Operator” launched the Program to enhance awareness of the operation of the Electricity Market of Ukraine.

This initiative, which combines an educational mission with support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, aims to expand and deepen business knowledge, as well as unite the professional community to discuss current issues related to the functioning of the energy sector under exceptionally challenging conditions.

In 2025, 515 specialists participated in the social Program of JSC “Market Operator”, and since its launch — already 792 participants. Among them: 41% women and 59% men. The Program not only increases awareness of the operation of the Electricity Market of Ukraine but also strengthens the country’s defense capability. In 2025, more than UAH 4 million was allocated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the total amount of assistance throughout the duration of the Program exceeded UAH 7 million.

The Program is designed for those who want to:

• clearly understand how the electricity market in Ukraine operates;
• know where and how to sell electricity efficiently;
• build a strategy for working on the DAM, IDM, Bilateral Contracts Market, and Balancing Market;
• reduce the risks of imbalances;
• understand the specifics of operation for different types of generation, suppliers, and traders;
• work effectively with the TSO, DSOs, the Regulator, and market infrastructure.

Over the past year, the Program has been particularly in demand among companies that install gas-piston or cogeneration units, operate in the RES segment, implement Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and enter the market as new producers, suppliers, or traders.

The JSC “Market Operator” Program to enhance awareness of the operation of the Electricity Market of Ukraine includes a structured system of thematic course packages:

“Market Model” — a basic course for understanding the logic of the energy system, market segments (DAM, IDM, BCM, BM), principles of price formation and electricity trading.
