INVESTMENTS IN THE FUTURE OF THE ENERGY SECTOR: LEADING INDUSTRY COMPANIES JOIN FORCES TO TRAIN A NEW GENERATION OF PROFESSIONALS

07.01.2026

JSC “Market Operator”, PJSC “Ukrhydroenergo”, NPC “Ukrenergo”, and SE “Guaranteed Buyer” are launching a joint educational project in energy management together with five Ukrainian universities and are inviting other higher education institutions to join the cooperation.

The educational project aims to create a talent pool for the energy sector, where future professionals will be able to realise their potential, and businesses will receive well-trained specialists ready to work in the dynamic environment of the electricity market.

At the initial stage, the companies will implement the initiative together with five higher education institutions — Lviv Polytechnic National University, National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University, Vinnytsia National Technical University, and National University of Water and Environmental Engineering.

The cooperation provides for joint lectures, internships at the companies, practical training, and student participation in projects and research that reflect the real challenges of the industry. The companies are ready to share real-world experience of operating in the electricity market — how electricity trading is carried out, how electricity transmission is performed, how the market is regulated, how digital technologies are implemented, and how renewable energy is developed.

The objective of the initiative is to create an effective platform for training a new generation of energy professionals who possess up-to-date knowledge, practical skills, and an understanding of the real processes of how the energy market functions. Investments in the development of human capital are investments in the sustainable development of Ukraine’s energy system, its technological independence, and its security.

“We are open to cooperation with other higher education institutions of Ukraine that share our mission — to form a professional generation capable of ensuring a stable, secure, and innovative energy sector of the future,” the joint press release of the companies states.
